Iron’s function in the body |

The primary function of iron is to transport oxygen within the blood and muscles. Iron is also a part of many enzymes involved in making amino acids, hormones, new cells and neurotransmitters. Energy production: Iron transfers oxygen to the tissues via haemoglobin in the blood and is involved in the release of oxygen.
